With the continuous development of UAV technology, the application fields of UAV are more and more extensive. For example, UAV is currently used in military, police, civil, agricultural plant protection, aerial photography and other fields. So do you know the difference between military UAV and civil UAV?
The differences between military four rotor UAV and ordinary civil UAV are mainly understood from the following four points:
1、 Electromagnetic escape problem
Because the UAV mainly transmits commands by radio, the commands of the civil UAV can be easily detected by the nearby enemy’s electronic system during transmission, “which is equivalent to that the opponent immediately knows as soon as the UAV takes off or reaches over the target.
2、 There is a gap between the two in terms of range and effective dead time
Considering the distance of the reconnaissance area, even the endurance time of small military UAV must be more than several hours, otherwise the reconnaissance time over the target will be very limited after deducting the time spent on the road. Therefore, the endurance time of ordinary civil UAV from tens of minutes to one or two hours.
3、 Weighing capacity
At present, the main application field of UAV is reconnaissance and monitoring. Whether it is equipped with photoelectric or infrared equipment, such items usually weigh more than several kilograms, far exceeding the effective carrying capacity of civil UAV.
4、 Confidential communication issues
In order to prevent the communication link with the rear from being cut off or monitored, the military UAV needs to be equipped with encryption radio, and its size, power consumption and weight are also considerable. When carrying out the attack mission, it is more necessary to maintain continuous communication with the rear. In this field, civil UAVs lack the qualification to install such equipment. The most important thing is that in the modern combat system, UAV is no longer a single flight platform, but needs to be embedded in the whole combat system to undertake corresponding tasks, which needs to be carefully considered at the beginning of design.
At present, the use of civil UAV focuses more on personal entertainment. It not only lacks the ability to perform special tasks such as military and police, but also cannot be realized even when performing civilian tasks such as patrol, mapping and disaster monitoring. UAVs play a wider role in the civil field than in the military, such as using UAVs to monitor the fire in remote forest areas, or sending multiple UAVs to patrol along the highway to find and evaluate the accident as soon as possible. Therefore, the transformation of general UAV technology into civilian products should have a long rode to go.
